The active subwoofer Bowers & Wilkins ASW608 is the entry model in the sixth "line" of B&W, however, it has very serious equipment. The device is equipped with a low-frequency driver with a 200mm diameter diaphragm made of Kevlar, paper, and resin. This combination allowed for the creation of a lightweight, rigid diaphragm, resistant to bending, and practically free of resonances. The flexible and durable suspension provides the piston-like movement of the diaphragm necessary for quality bass reproduction.

The subwoofer is housed in a sealed enclosure, with a classic design placing the bass driver on the front panel. Deep internal damping of the enclosure reduces sound colorations when the sub is operating at high volumes. The class D amplifier of the subwoofer delivers 200W of output power.
On the back panel of the B&W ASW608, there are controls for input signal level (separate for line and speaker inputs), input filter cutoff frequency control, and a switch to turn it off - for example, when connecting the subwoofer to the low-frequency channel output of a receiver. Also, using the switches available here, you can activate bass extension schemes (modes A, B, C) and equalization, change the absolute phase of the signal, and activate auto-start mode when a signal appears on the input. Accordingly, there are line and speaker inputs, as well as a trigger control input.
Thanks to the ability to control the sound character more flexibly than many similar models, B&W ASW608 can be precisely tuned to work with different speakers. The optimal configuration of additional switches is detailed in the device manual, depending on the various ways it can be used, so setting up the B&W ASW608 will not cause any difficulties.
The subwoofer delivers full, deep, and well-focused bass, and, as it is housed in a sealed enclosure, it is not afraid of being placed near a wall in the listening room. The device is excellent for use in stereo setups and home theaters, and is capable of enhancing the sound of an audio system with depth and energy. The exterior finish of the ASW 608 can be black or white.
