The new Series 700 continues Bowers & Wilkins' commitment to incorporating concepts and technologies inherited from its flagship line. Extensive research over three years has transformed almost every element of the new series, from cabinet construction, drivers, and finishes to key acoustic and mechanical improvements.
Beautiful Design, Premium Details
For the first time in the Series 700, the new lineup features slimmer cabinets with smoothly curved front panels and drivers housed in external "capsules," creating a visual and technical parallel with the 800 Diamond Series. This shape significantly reduces the impact of the front panel on sound quality, minimizing sound diffraction effects on the cabinet. As a result, the new series acoustically "disappears" better than ever, allowing you to focus solely on the music without any cabinet resonance distractions.
The new cabinet shapes not only look more elegant than before but also come in a new Mocha color finish, a beautiful wood with a grainy pattern that perfectly complements the updated proportions and premium details of the new Series 700 speaker cabinets. Mocha joins the previously offered Gloss Black and Satin White finishes, forming a three-component range for most markets worldwide.
Enhanced Drivers, New Acoustic Forms
Taking a significant step forward in acoustic performance, Bowers & Wilkins now offers its iconic tweeter technology in a massive, single-piece enclosure in four models of the new Series 700. Besides these mechanical improvements, the tweeter dome maintains the characteristics of the Bowers & Wilkins Carbon Dome model with a first resonance frequency of 47 kHz, combined with improved vented voice coils and new magnets.
The 707 S3 features Bowers & Wilkins' patented midrange driver technologies, including vibration isolation for the entire midrange unit, an aluminum driver chassis with tuned mass dampers to reduce resonances, fixed FST diaphragm suspension, and the famous Continuum material, providing astonishing clarity in midrange sound.
The 707 S3 has also been upgraded with new magnetic systems and improved chassis for cleaner sound. Additionally, the driver diaphragm now uses the latest generation of Bowers & Wilkins' Aerofoil technology, based on a composite "sandwich" of materials with a carefully shaped variable profile to achieve cleaner bass with low distortion levels.
Sound Quality Optimization
To provide the best platform for these drivers to succeed, the new Series 700 features upgraded speaker terminals based on the 800 Series, with stronger contacts better suited for spade connectors. Audio signals flow through meticulously upgraded crossovers, which continue to use audiophile Mundorf capacitors supplemented with several bypass capacitors. Radiators for cooling the crossovers have also been improved for even cleaner sound.
All models in the lineup come with upgraded larger diameter bass reflex ports for more significant bandwidth, delivering a more expansive and spatial sound. The 707 S3 includes super-strong M6 spikes.
