Vinyl edition of the 1972 Black Sabbath album Vol 4. Within a month of its release, Vol 4 went gold in the US, later achieving platinum status and becoming the fourth consecutive Black Sabbath album to exceed 1 million copies in the US. The album reached number 8 in the UK charts and number 16 in the US.
Black Sabbath is a British band considered to be the progenitor of the heavy metal musical style and having had a significant influence on the development of rock music. The band was formed in the UK in 1969. The original line-up of the band included: vocalist - John "Ozzy" Osbourne, guitarist - Tony Iommi, bassist - Terry "Geezer" Butler and drummer - Bill Ward. The band's albums went platinum in the US and repeatedly entered the top ten in the English charts.
