    Description

The MULTICOM PRO-XL MDX4600 V2 is a sound processor designed for psychoacoustic processing and subjective sound quality enhancement through compression, noise suppression, clipping elimination, and enhancer operation. Most of the processing algorithms are automated, requiring minimal attention from the sound engineer. When working together, the built-in tools provide a rich, vibrant, and clear sound during processing of tracks of any genre.

    Processing Settings

The main tool of the MULTICOM PRO-XL MDX4600 V2 is a compressor with a switchable Interactive Knee Adaptation (IKA) processing stiffness algorithm. Adjusting the compressor to the signal ensures a natural output sound, while enabling the low-frequency filter helps avoid subjective distortions in music during strong low-frequency compression. The enhancer also contributes to improving audio perception through phase-frequency correction and sound volume enhancement, complementing the compressor and eliminating any specific coloration it may impart during intense processing. The expander/gate helps eliminate noise while keeping the useful signal unchanged, and the limiter prevents clipping and signal distortion at peak intensities.

The processor operates within a frequency range of 0.35-200,000 Hz. The signal-to-noise ratio in the range of 22-22,000 Hz does not exceed 115 dB, with distortions of less than 0.01%. Signals in the channels can be processed independently or in stereo mode, during which channels 1/2 and 3/4 are synchronized.

    Connectivity and Control

Each channel has input and output XLR connectors with gold-plated connectors, duplicated by ¼-inch TRS jacks. These universal interfaces have standard input and output impedances and are compatible with the majority of studio and concert audio equipment. Weighing only 2.25 kg, the device is easy to install even without a special rack.

The control panel, in addition to its simple and intuitive organization, features backlighting for all switches to facilitate operation in dimly lit environments. It also includes LED scales for monitoring input and output signal levels, limiter status, gain intensity, and expander operation.
