Austrian Audio MiCreator Studio is a USB microphone designed for a wide range of applications. Thanks to its cardioid polar pattern, the microphone is ideal for recording vocals and instrumental compositions while effectively suppressing sound hitting the back of the microphone. Additionally, it is designed to be placed on a desk or stand. To facilitate this, the microphone features a 3/8" thread on the bottom, which can be increased to 5/8" with the included thread adapter if needed.
With rubber feet also located on the bottom, the MiCreator Studio microphone always stands securely on a flat surface. Nevertheless, it can also be used as a handheld microphone, as it is equipped with a shock-absorbing capsule to ensure optimal isolation from structure-borne noise. Regardless of where and how the microphone is positioned, it's always recommended to aim the swivel head towards the source being recorded. To combat unwanted effects, the MiCreator Studio includes internal pop protection, which can be replaced by optional pop protection (such as the Austrian Audio OCP8) if needed.

Controls:
The microphone automatically starts when connected via USB-C, so there is no power on/off switch. During startup, a red LED briefly flashes, then the LEDs switch to green volume mode. The main headphone output is located on the back panel of the MiCreator Studio and is controlled by the volume/monitor knob on the front panel. To adjust the volume, you need to switch the LED bar to green, which is possible by pressing the knob. Pressing the knob again changes the LED bar color to red, allowing for monitoring adjustments.
On the front panel, there is a microphone gain switch with three settings. Setting it to "mute" disables the microphone input, indicated by a visual red marker on the switch. Setting it to "low" amplifies the microphone signal to 0 dB, and setting it to "high" increases it to 20 dB. Additional 15 dB input gain can be achieved through the USB-C connection.
Connections:
In addition to the main headphone output "out," there is another "in/out" connector on the back panel for connecting a second pair of headphones or MiCreator Satellite. This connector is also controlled by the volume/monitor knob on the front panel. To adjust the input gain of the "in/out" jack, there is a "high/low" switch located above it, with the same "high" and "low" values as the switch on the front panel.
If an instrument is connected via an instrument cable or a second pair of headphones, it is recommended to set the switch to "low." This setting also maximizes the input impedance to minimize signal distortion from the connected device. Stereo recording is possible with the MiCreator Studio when a second microphone is connected to the back panel.
