Description

The Audio-Technica AT8024 is a professional on-camera stereo "shotgun" microphone with a length of 172 mm. The model is designed for high-resolution mono and stereo recording.

Features:

  • Directionality: Line-cardioid, LR stereo.B.
  • Frequency range: 40 - 15000 Hz.
  • Low-frequency cutoff filter: 80 Hz, 12 dB/octave.
  • Sensitivity: -37 dB (14.1 mV) 1V at 1 PA.
  • Nominal dynamic range: Mono: 106 dB, 1 kHz at Max SPL; Stereo: 104 dB, 1 kHz at max SPL.

There is a switch for linear cardioid mono mode and stereo modes. The on-camera microphone is equipped with a 3-position selectable attenuator necessary for recording the loudest sounds without the slightest distortion at a maximum input level of 128 dB SPL. To eliminate unwanted noise, there is a switchable low-cut filter. It also removes natural room reverberation and various mechanical interferences caused by equipment operation. The microphone is powered by an AA battery, but a camera shoe mount is also included.

The battery provides up to 80 hours of autonomous operation. The package includes two types of windshields (fur and foam), as well as an AA battery. Features of AT8024: cardioid + stereo directional patterns. Built-in attenuator with 3 selectable values + low-cut filter. The frequency range for playback is from 40 to 15,000 Hz. Power can be supplied either through the camera shoe mount or with one AA battery. The maximum battery life is 80 hours. Fur and foam windscreens are included in the package.

These microphones are very sensitive. They require an external power supply and are hung up to ceiling

Словарь терминов
Impedance, Ohms

No higher than 32 Ohms for smartphone headphones. When using a good player or amplifier, it can be up to 100 Ohms. For stationary models you should coordinate the impedance with the amplifier power

Microphone polar pattern

Omnidirectional, cardioid and supercardioid. It determines the sensitivity of the microphone to sound relative to the direction or angle, i.e. shows how well the microphone "hears" sound from different sides

Glossary of terms
cardioid

The polar pattern of the microphone that picks up the sound in front of it.

Словарь терминов

condenser

A metal membrane consisting of plates (a condenser) oscillates under the influence of sound air flows converting a sound wave into an electromagnetic one.
