On the top panel of the ACRO BE100, there is the characteristic A&K volume knob made of aluminum with a ridged pattern, emphasizing the beauty and sophistication of the material. The controller provides precise and tactile volume adjustment, as well as switches between the speaker's modes. The illumination of the knob acts as an indicator, changing color depending on the mode. Additionally, hidden beneath the speaker grille is a LED display that lights up when adjusting settings.
32-bit DAC for Hi-Fi sound
Most wireless speakers do not have a dedicated DAC - they use a solution built into the Bluetooth chip, which limits their sound capabilities.
The ACRO BE100 uses a separate circuit with a high-quality 32-bit DAC to convert digital signals into analog. Drawing upon the technologies and experience gained from creating its world-renowned portable Hi-Fi products, the BE100 offers a different level of realism without losing the authentic details of analog sound.
Refined Stereo Sound
The ACRO BE100 utilizes specially selected and tuned drivers. Two 1.5-inch silk dome tweeters reproduce crystal clear high frequencies, while a 4-inch low-frequency driver made from durable yet lightweight Kevlar fabric delivers more precise and powerful bass sound. A&K engineers tirelessly worked to find the perfect placement for the drivers. As a result, the speaker produces an authentic and room-filling stereo sound.
Unparalleled Hi-Fi design and Astell&Kern technologies
If the speaker amplifiers are not properly designed, distortion and clipping issues can arise at high power levels.
By utilizing their own amplifier design technology, A&K engineers were able to avoid such problems and achieve true Hi-Fi sound without distortion, even at maximum volume. The 55W Class D amplifier creates clean and faithful sound close to the original, preventing the blending of different frequency ranges through digital crossover. To protect the driver at maximum output power, dynamic range control (DRC) is applied.
Furthermore, to minimize jitter (undesirable time deviation from the transmitted signal), the Bluetooth chip set is equipped with a 50ps clock generator.
Several connection options
Engineers have adjusted the sound of the speaker, taking into account the technical features of two different connection modes, in order to provide equally realistic sound for each of them.
For wireless music playback, the BE100 is equipped with Bluetooth 5.0 technology and wide codec support (SBC, AAC, aptX HD, and LDAC). The AUX (3.5mm) port allows for wired connection with a player, computer, or any other audio device. To further customize the sound to your liking, you have access to high and low frequency settings.
