The directivity diagram resulting from U|D|D has the shape of a narrow cardioid. Therefore, the speakers can be placed close to the wall without fearing unpleasant consequences. The U|D|D technology is implemented through the arrangement of drivers, crossover design, and carefully calculated waveguide with the tweeter.
Speaker design
The 13cm woofers with paper diffusers are connected in parallel, working completely synchronously without timing or phase errors. Hence, the Helium 520 model is a two-way speaker. The tweeters, like all Amphion speakers, feature a 1-inch titanium dome with measures taken to eliminate peak resonances.
