The directivity pattern resulting from U|D|D has the form of a narrow cardioid. Accordingly, the speakers can be placed quite close to the wall without fearing unpleasant consequences. The U|D|D technology is implemented through the placement of drivers, crossover design, and carefully calculated waveguide where the tweeter is installed.
Driver Design:
The parallel connection of the 13-centimeter woofers with paper diffusers ensures synchronous operation without temporal or phase errors. Therefore, the Helium 520 model is a two-way speaker. The tweeters, as in all Amphion speakers, have a one-inch titanium dome with measures taken to eliminate peak resonances.
