Design:
The tweeter responsible for high frequencies is equipped with a 25mm titanium dome, protected by a small grille. This is almost standard equipment for every Amphion speaker. A special feature of the Amphion Helium 410 is the waveguide that helps coordinate the work of the high-frequency tweeter and the low-frequency driver. The depth of the waveguide is calculated so that the tweeter and low-frequency driver are in the same plane. The waveguide helps compensate for the difference in speed between high and low frequencies, creating the impression that the sound is coming from one point, minimizing possible distortions.
Paired with the tweeter is a 114mm woofer with a paper impregnated diaphragm, maximizing the nuances of mid and low frequencies. The Helium410 speaker has a rear-firing port, located directly behind the woofer, which is unusual. According to the company's engineers, this design choice has made the speaker's performance on low frequencies particularly effective.
