The crossover point between the speakers is quite low, at 1600 Hz. Passive woofer extends low-frequency limits:
A passive woofer is a speaker without a magnetic coil, whose own resonance determines the lower playback limit.
This solution allows for a lower playback limit than a closed cabinet but unlike a bass reflex, the passive speaker does not slow down the attack or produce turbulent artifacts. The woofer's diaphragm is made of aluminum, which is highly rigid yet lightweight.
Another element borrowed from the professional line is the Argento Audio input terminals with large plastic cups instead of the usual gold-plated posts with screw-on nuts. This allows for quick connection of bananas, spades, and stripped wire without touching bare contacts and risking a short circuit.
