ADAM A3X is a professional active two-way studio monitor designed for professional studios, musicians, and music enthusiasts. It is part of the AX series from the German manufacturer ADAM Audio and is rightfully considered one of the smallest studio monitors in the world - especially among ADAM Audio products. It can be used in control rooms, on desks, for connecting audio players or game consoles, for post-production, or as a personal monitor - its applications are very broad. One of the main features of this monitor is the bi-amp configuration, where the low and mid frequencies are amplified separately from the high frequencies. The amplifiers are Class A/B with a total power of 50 watts RMS (25+25).
The ADAM A3X features the proprietary X-ART ribbon tweeter based on a thin pleated foil, placed in the cabinet alongside a 4.5" carbon fiber woofer. Two front-firing bass reflex ports allow for placement near walls. The front panel includes power and activity LEDs. On the rear panel, there are balanced XLR and unbalanced RCA connectors. The tweeter level EQ allows for adjusting the high-frequency range (+/- 4 dB). The ADAM A3X also includes a built-in crossover that separates the signal at 2.8 kHz.
One useful feature of the ADAM A5X is StereoLink, which allows for connecting monitors together using RCA cables in stereo mode for convenient volume control from one monitor, specifically designed for unbalanced RCA channels.
