The headphones, typical of 64 Audio models, boast a wide stereo panorama. The soundstage is constructed more on height and width rather than depth. The U18s excel at creating depth in the soundstage, providing an excellent picture of the localization of planes and their separation. The warmth of the bass range moderately permeates the mid-bass and lower midrange junction, ensuring sound integrity and natural perception. The headphones manage to maintain the variability and plasticity of the sound, even through some rounding and elasticity of the low frequencies. The dynamic low-end is lively, and the rich array of drivers ensures excellent extension.
The 64 Audio U18s offer fast response while maintaining sufficient low-frequency amplitude, thanks to the connection of eight modified dynamic drivers for the low-frequency range instead of using fewer/larger drivers.
Tia Technology
The special design of the drivers and housing without acoustic sound tubes provides transparent and realistic sound. The system reduces unwanted resonance and distortion, allowing the Tia high-frequency driver to sound freely in one large sound tube. The U18s are equipped with two main elements of the Tia system: the Tia driver and the single-bore design.
Apex Core Technology
The technology aims to reduce listener fatigue by alleviating excessive air pressure in the ear canal. This ventilation allows musicians and music enthusiasts to comfortably use the headphones for longer periods. Apex comes in three module options for the U18s: mX, m15, and m20.
The 64 Audio U18s are handcrafted in the USA from top-grade aerospace aluminum billet. CNC milling, sandblasting, in-flight cutting, and dual anodizing result in a stunning fractal design inspired by nature.
The headphone housing mimics the shape of the ear canal. The model is designed not only for audiophiles but also for musicians.
