Naim Audio is a British manufacturer of high-end acoustics and components, the main principles of which are based on a constant desire for innovation, selecting materials for their qualities rather than appearance, minimizing the harmful effects and interference inside components due to maximum isolation of key components. The company's history goes back more than 45 years, during which it has proven that it is deservedly among the world's best manufacturers.
Julian Vereker, founder of Naim Audio, was a racing driver, entrepreneur and self-taught engineer with a deep passion for music. In his spare time in the 1960s, he recorded his friends' live performances and listened to them at home, gradually realizing that his system was not capable of unleashing the full power of a concert performance. It was then that Julian began creating his first amplifiers and loudspeakers, which became the basis for many successful and iconic Naim models.
Already in 1972, Julian won the tender to equip the then just opening Capital Radio station with equipment. At this point, a compact version of the power amplifier with built-in speakers, the NAM 502, appeared on the scene. On the wave of this success, Naim Audio was officially registered in 1973, co-founded by Julian Vereker himself and Shirley Clarke. The business was located in a shop in the center of Salisbury.
