Lake People was founded in 1986 with the aim of providing solutions for recording studios and demanding audio enthusiasts. Fried Reim and his partners established the company to offer high-quality sound equipment for professionals.

The company's motto, "Tools not Toys," reflects its approach to product development, as Lake People focuses on creating equipment for professionals. Meanwhile, its subsidiary company, Violectric, focuses on the Hi-Fi market.

Based in Constance, Lake People's connection to the Lake Constance region is reflected not only in its name but also in its business operations. The entire development and production process takes place in the Constance factory, with most suppliers also based in Germany. This "Made in Germany" approach ensures that all Lake People products are of the highest quality.
