Arcam

A&R Cambridge Ltd (Arcam) is a British hi-fi equipment manufacturer based in Cambridge Innovation Park, Waterbeach, Cambridgeshire, England. The company was founded in 1976 by science and engineering students at the University of Cambridge. A&R Cambridge's first product, the A60 integrated amplifier, was released in 1976 and soon became a classic, admired for its stylish, understated design and high-quality sound.

The name "A&R Cambridge" was an abbreviation of "Amplification & Recording, Cambridge," representing the initial activities of its founders, two Cambridge University students. In the 1980s, the product name was shortened to ARCAM, although the company's trading name remained A&R Cambridge Ltd. The company's products range from integrated stereo amplifiers to high-performance AV processors, music players, and other Hi-Fi components. Since July 2017, it has been part of the South Korean company Samsung Electronics, as the American subsidiary of Harman International Industries.
