The Yamaha NS-5000 has a three-way configuration and in terms of sound quality and thoughtful design, can be considered the top system for all speakers in this class. This model resembles the famous NS-1000M speakers (released by Yamaha in 1974), but actually has a completely updated design.
The speaker diaphragms in the Yamaha NS-5000 are made of patented synthetic ZYLON fiber, created in Japan and recognized as the strongest in the world. The membrane is additionally coated with a special Monel alloy. In terms of weight and stiffness ratio, the diaphragms of these drivers surpass even those made with beryllium, making the sound of the NS-5000 exceptionally transparent and fast.
The tweeter and midrange drivers in the NS-5000 are housed in RS acoustic chambers to suppress unwanted resonances. These chambers have a precisely calculated shape patented by Yamaha. As a result, the sound in the mid and high frequencies is maximally natural and balanced. In addition, thanks to them, the need for a large amount of sound absorber inside the speaker cabinet is eliminated, making the sound more dynamic.
The Yamaha NS-5000 cabinet is precision-made from laminated birch plywood from Japanese white birch grown on Hokkaido Island. The front panel of the speaker is 28 mm thick, while the others are 19 mm thick. The internal volume of the speaker is 65 liters, which is optimal for a 12-inch woofer. The cabinet has internal braces to eliminate wall vibrations, and the special shape of the phase inverter prevents noise and distortion. The luxurious black lacquer finish emphasizes the high status of this model.
The Yamaha NS-5000 speakers are equipped with high-quality audiophile-grade component crossovers, and their installation is designed to minimize phase distortion. The speaker systems can be complemented by special floor stands.
