Integrated amplifier Yamaha A-S701 features a circuit topology that utilizes the proprietary ToP-ART technology. Thanks to this circuitry and the Direct Symmetrical Design construction, absolute symmetry of the right and left channels is ensured. The signal pass from the input to the output of the amplifier is carried out through a direct symmetrical scheme, ultimately contributing to distortion minimization and achieving pure natural sound. The model's chassis is equipped with a special ART (Anti-Resonance and Tough) Base, which in conjunction with a central metal brace allows for excellent damping, increased rigidity, and minimized vibrations and resonances.
The power supply unit of the Yamaha A-S701 integrates buffer capacitors of 12000 µF each and a massive custom transformer. Large extruded aluminum radiators are used for cooling. The circuitry incorporates carefully selected and tested components, including high-quality relays, a single-point grounding system, capacitors made to order, and other top-class components. The amplifier has a power output of 100W per channel when used with 8-ohm speakers and can deliver a maximum of 160W per channel with 4 ohms.
A noteworthy feature is the tone control function, with a regulator located on the aluminum front panel for smooth adjustment. This function allows for compensation of losses in the high and low frequency bands related to human hearing characteristics at low volume levels.
The Yamaha A-S701 amplifier offers the option to use the CD Direct Amplification mode, which enhances the signal-to-noise ratio and provides direct signal transmission when a source is connected to the CD input, bypassing input selectors, tone controls, and volume adjustments. This ensures a clean natural sound. The Pure Direct mode operates with all inputs, directing the signal bypassing the buffer amplifier and balance, tone, and tone control knobs.
With a built-in DAC, as well as coaxial/optical inputs, digital sources such as TV panels, Blu-ray players, and others can be connected to the Yamaha A-S701. PCM signals up to 24 bit / 192 kHz are supported. The amplifier features a headphone amplifier, MM phono stage, a set of line inputs, recording outputs, and a connector for an active subwoofer. An external Bluetooth module YBA-11 supporting aptX codec can be connected. Four pairs of gold-plated screw terminals are provided for speaker connection.
