The Universal Audio Apollo DSP processing system is now adapted for network use via the Dante protocol. The Universal Audio Apollo x16D audio interface supports Dante networks and is designed for professional recording studios with a comprehensive set of equipment, as well as concert venues.
The Apollo x16D is an expandable audio interface with 18 inputs and 20 outputs. The interface supports signal recording with a sampling frequency of up to 192 kHz and a bit depth of up to 24 bits, is compatible with the Dante protocol and AES67 standard (48 kHz). The device is equipped with a six-core DSP chip for signal processing.
Dante compatibility allows linking up to four Apollo x16D interfaces into a single system for DSP processing up to 64 channels in real-time. The sound card is fully compatible with existing Apollo interfaces equipped with Thunderbolt connectivity. This allows the x16D to be combined with other company products, which become Dante-compatible when connected to the x16D. In addition to monitor outputs, the interface has AES/EBU I/O connections for digital equipment and Word Clock I/O ports.
With 16x16 simultaneous network audio channels through Dante (or AES67 at 48 kHz), the Apollo x16D allows for creating 16-channel immersive audio mixes for Dolby Atmos, Auro-3D, Sony 360, Reality Audio, and others. If you want to create a multi-channel system, you can connect up to four Apollo X16D devices to create a 64-channel Dante system with network redundancy. AES stereo I/O systems are also available for connecting to professional external digital equipment. Two Thunderbolt ports allow for connecting up to four Apollo interfaces with Thunderbolt connectivity.
