Focal Sopra №2 speaker system is equipped with a 27mm tweeter with a very rigid ultra-light concave dome coated with beryllium. The tweeter is located in a module made of a durable damping material - thermolit polyurethane. The module integrates a back chamber, shaped like a reverse horn (IHL technology). The chamber absorbs waves emitted by the back of the dome membrane, minimizing distortion and reducing the resonant frequency. As a result, clean sound with excellent dynamics and high resolution is guaranteed. The tweeter is protected by a mini-grille, and the back of the module is also covered with a metal grille.
Focal Sopra №2 utilizes a pair of 180mm woofers that provide dense, sufficiently deep, and well-controlled bass. The woofers feature W-cones consisting of a layer of special foamed material reinforced with thin layers of fiberglass on both sides. This lightweight sandwich construction achieves high rigidity and improves internal damping. The NIC technology stabilizes the magnetic field in which the coil is located, enhancing dynamics and reducing distortion. In the slightly forward-tilted upper part of the enclosure, a 165mm midrange driver with a similar W-cone construction and NIC technology is integrated. The suspension of the midrange driver has thickened, acting as mass dampers (TMD technology) to eliminate parasitic resonances caused by membrane movement.
The module with the built-in tweeter provides a slight tilt of the upper part of the speaker forward, while the lower part of the column is slightly tilted backward. As a result, the waves emitted by all drivers reach the listening position at the same time (Focus Time technology). The thick 69mm front panel of the speaker has a sandwich structure, contributing to improved damping. The sides are non-parallel, and Helmholtz resonators are installed in the lower part of the enclosure to address the issue of internal standing waves. The rear port of the speaker is integrated into the base of the tempered glass with built-in adjustable stainless steel spikes.
The Focal Sopra №2 speakers feature a modern ergonomic design and are available in glossy lacquer or natural veneer finishes. The model is ideal for rooms up to 30 sq. m, and can easily handle spaces up to 70 sq. m.
