The Tonar 16060 Groovy Weight 750 gram is a hefty stabilizing clamp that is placed on the spindle of a vinyl turntable after you have placed a record on the platter.

The clamp serves several useful functions: it helps flatten warped records and reduces resonances between the record and platter that can affect the stylus. A heavy clamp, such as the Groovy Weight 750 gram, is recommended for heavy-duty turntables with a powerful motor and designed for a larger main bearing mass.
It is not recommended for turntables with spring or elastic suspension systems or direct drive turntables, for which a screw-down clamp (known as a "clamp"), such as the Tonar Misty, would be more suitable.
