The RODE K2 is the result of extensive research and development, drawing from the expertise gained in producing thousands of tube microphones. The pinnacle of tube technology, the K2 features the HF-1 microphone capsule, combining modern characteristics with the legendary sound of 1950s microphones. This microphone offers a range of adjustment options, allowing for precise and efficient task completion. RODE's reputation as a manufacturer of state-of-the-art sound recording tools is further established with the introduction of the K2.
The RODE K2 microphone, as expected from a tube microphone, adds a subtle "enhancement" to the sound. It also enhances volume and promotes the richness of "chest" frequencies, while creating a smoother and less aggressive upper spectrum. The K2's electronic components are mounted on a fiberglass printed circuit board, with the capsule housed in a shock mount. The microphone features a meticulously designed switching circuit and is protected by a two-layer stainless steel mesh, guarding against high-frequency interference and mechanical impact.
The tube inside the RODE K2 can be easily replaced without soldering. Access to the tube is gained by unscrewing the housing cover, while the included SM2 shock mount can be secured with the knurled retaining ring.
