The converter uses two PCM-1792 chips (one in each channel) and features a switchable tube/transistor output, unbalanced and balanced analog outputs. The sampling frequency and input signal type are displayed on the front panel of the device using LED indicators.
The Pro-Ject DAC BOX RS can be used with any digital source in a home audio system. It is equipped with a USB input for connecting to a PC or streamer transports to achieve unmatched sound quality. The device supports processing data in high-resolution formats. Additionally, the Pro-Ject DAC Box RS features an AES/EBU input and I²S/Master Clock outputs, which can be used for connecting to the CD transport CD Box RS and other compatible devices.
The Pro-Ject DAC BOX RS model uses high-class PCM 1792 DACs (one per channel) and provides two different digital filter settings to achieve optimal sound quality. It also features both tube and solid-state output stages (with the option to switch between them) to suit the preference of each user.
The sound circuitry has extremely low noise levels and high linearity characteristics, as well as very low output impedance. This prevents sound distortion caused by various connecting cables and input circuits of connected amplifiers. The Pro-Ject DAC Box RS is one of the most uncompromising devices in its class.
