Neumann WS 100 - a polyurethane windscreen for KM 100 and KM 180 microphone series.
Features:
- Diameter of 90 mm;
- Wind noise reduction of 23 dB;
- Output level reduction of approximately 4 dB at 15 kHz.
Close proximity sounds, wind, and fast microphone movements can all cause interference. To avoid these unwanted sounds, windscreen accessories are available. Typically made of open-cell polyurethane foam, these windscreens do not cause disruptive resonances and do not affect the directional pattern. Only in the upper frequency range is the output level slightly attenuated. Wind noise reduction was measured without electrical filtering in a turbulent air flow moving at a velocity of 20 km/h, generated by a silent wind machine.
