The Mackie ProFX30v3 is an analog mixing console equipped with a USB audio interface and DSP effects processor. This device belongs to the third generation of the ProFX series professional mixers and is the mid-range model in the series, featuring 30 input channels, consisting of 26 mono and 4 stereo channels. The mixer is perfect for use in theaters and cultural centers, schools and universities, rehearsal spaces, and recording studios.
Channels 1 and 2 are designed with Combo 6.3 mm/XLR connectors and can accommodate microphone, line, and instrument signals. Channels 3 to 28 are occupied by 25 microphone inputs with XLR connectors. Each of the microphone inputs is equipped with an Onyx preamp with a gain range of up to +60 dB, as well as phantom power. Channels 3-22 have 19 mono and 4 stereo line inputs on 6.3 mm connectors. The same connectors are also used for the insert inputs provided for channels 1-22. Channel 29/30 has a single 3.5 mm line input for connecting portable devices and can be used for outputting signal from a computer via USB.
All channels, except for the last one, are equipped with 3-band equalizers with parametric midrange (from 100 Hz to 8 kHz) and low-cut filters up to 100 Hz. The last input, 29/30, only has a standard 3-band equalizer with fixed frequency values. Channels 1-16 have simple compressors controlled by a single knob. Each channel has a volume fader, mute button, send controls to the effects processor, three monitor sends, and pan controls. There are two balanced output connectors, XLR and 6.3 mm, for audio signal output.
Additional Control Room, Sub, AUX, and headphone outputs are also provided on 6.3 mm connectors, allowing you to send signal to another monitor line, create a personal mix, or output a separate FX track. There is also a 12-segment analog level meter that allows convenient monitoring of the output volume level.
The DSP processor called GigFX offers the user 24 effects, including reverb, delay, modulation, filters, and distortion. The selected preset number is displayed on the built-in LCD screen, and the processor can be remotely turned on and off using an optional footswitch, which has a 3.5 mm input. The built-in USB audio interface has 2 inputs and 4 outputs, 24-bit resolution, and is capable of operating at sample rates up to 192 kHz. Connection to a PC is made via a USB-B port, and the mixer is powered by AC.
The professional analog mixing console Mackie ProFX30v3 has a large number of channels and is perfect for live music applications. The model stands out with its simple and intuitive control layout, focused only on the front panel. It has excellent technical characteristics, providing high sound quality, and is equipped with a range of tools for sound correction and processing.
