Beryllium and Flax
For the first time, a sandwich-cone woofer made of flax is combined with a beryllium tweeter. Flax has the perfect combination of low mass / stiffness / damping, providing clarity and precision in sound reproduction. This unique combination of flax and beryllium gives music incredible warmth and musicality. The TMD (Tuned Mass Damping) suspension is used in the midrange driver, and each Kanta speaker is equipped with a magnetic system with NIC (Neutral Inductance Circuit) for stable magnetic field, ensuring perfect sound and precise bass control.
High-Density Polymer
Everything is constructed and designed to make the sound soft and warm: the density and rigidity of the front panel and enclosure, rounded corners of the enclosure, and double bass reflex port. The front panel is made of a new material to improve acoustic parameters. It is entirely made of high-density polymer (HDP), which is 70% denser, 15% more rigid, and provides 25% more damping than MDF. The special shape of the front panel eliminates any diffraction effects. Kanta includes Power Flow technology with 2 ports on the front and rear panels to reduce bass compression.
Distortion Free
Focal's research is focused on reducing distortion in every frequency range. In Kanta, high frequencies are reproduced by a new tweeter with a beryllium membrane. This IAL3 tweeter combines the functions of IAL (infinite acoustic load) and IHL (infinite sound load), helping to absorb rear membrane radiation and thus reducing the resonance frequency.
Sound and Style!
Focal engineers have redesigned the "Focus Time" technology, adjusting the position of the drivers to place them at an equal distance from the listener. The enclosure is made from a single piece of wood, while the Zamac base is also crucial. Thanks to spikes and the stands under them, the base provides excellent stability with minimal footprint. Final details include a glass top and grilles with magnetic attachments. When removed, you can enjoy the natural individuality of each flax driver - a final design touch that gives Kanta its unique look.
