The Focal 100 ICW 8 is designed to be installed in walls or ceilings. It can also be used for listening to music or movie soundtracks in a home theater configuration. In these cases, the speaker can deliver surround sound effects or even be used as part of a multi-channel system like 5.1, 7.1, 5.1.2, etc. The natural and clear sound of the speakers perfectly emphasizes the voices of performers or dialogues in movies.

The 100 ICW 8 in-wall/in-ceiling speaker is the entry-level model in the Focal 100 Series lineup. It is discreet and offers a very good balance between size and efficiency. This speaker with two separate bands consists of a large 210mm mid/bass driver with Polyglass membrane and a tweeter with an inverted aluminum-magnesium dome.
The Polyglass technology, exclusive to Focal, consists of applying microglass beads to the cellulose pulp cone. This process combines the excellent damping of paper with the stiffness of glass, surpassing even the stiffness of single-layer Kevlar and almost ten times that of polypropylene.
The adjustment of mass/stiffness/damping ratio ensures exceptional linearity of the frequency response curve, all thanks to the unique cone construction. This innovation also significantly enhances image clarity in the midrange.
