High-quality Components

The low-pass filter circuit uses a pair of high-performance ORA1642 chips, and the MSP432 microcontroller provides precise control of audio signals with reduced power consumption. Connect them with 2xAK4493EQ capacitors from Panasonic and the NJW1195A volume control chip - and beautiful, melodic sound, pure ecstasy for your ears, is born. The AD8620+OPA926 operational amplifiers are responsible for amplification.

Even more stability, functionality, and reliability thanks to the XMOS XUF208 microcontroller. You can be confident that the Q5s will only operate when connected to audio sources, without consuming energy when they are absent.

Apple MFi

The MFi certification program is extremely strict, with only 2% of all devices applying for certification receiving it. With this in mind, the MFi insignia on the device signifies not only its full compatibility with all versions of iOS but also a certain level of quality.

aptX

The Q5s uses the Qualcomm csr8675 Bluetooth 5.0 chip, which supports the aptX-HD Bluetooth codec. In addition, Bluetooth capabilities can be expanded via firmware. Interchangeable amplifier modules, fully compatible with the Fiio line, are supported by the Q5s. The Q5s supports a breakthrough and flexible system of interchangeable amplifier modules, also used by other models in the FiiO lineup. The design of the interchangeable modules significantly expands the functionality of the Q5s. You can purchase different modules for different headphones or even just for different sound signatures.

Elegance and Reliability

The Q5s housing begins with a solid piece of aluminum alloy, which is then machined by CNC and meticulously polished. The back part is laser-treated, and the other surfaces are sandblasted. Such an aluminum housing is not only aesthetically appealing but also effectively protects the device from external electromagnetic fields and interference, preserving the sound quality achieved by the engineers.

Elegant Protection

The back part of the Q5s is covered with polyurethane leather, which not only gives it a unique style but also protects it from scratches. The device will always look as if you have just taken it out of the box.

Design You Can Feel with Your Fingertips

FiiO designers sincerely wanted to make the Q5s pleasant to handle, and one testament to this is the volume control wheel. You can easily notice the elegant bevels on the housing that guide your finger directly to the volume wheel and accentuate it for ease of use. The 45-degree notches and the red rim on the wheel also casually indicate where the control is located and add style to what is usually such a mundane tool.

Modern Volume Control

The volume control in the Q5s is based on an original algorithm that solves a number of issues, such as volume imbalances between the left and right channels or increased distortion. The accuracy of adjustment is also increased through ADC-reconstruction of the volume curve. Use all 256 levels of volume adjustment and make sure that the sound quality does not deteriorate.

High-Performance USB DAC

When connected to a computer via a micro-USB cable, the Q5s becomes an independent DAC/Amplifier. In USB DAC mode, it supports PCM audio up to 768 kHz / 32-bit and DSD256.

World-Class Bluetooth Audio

A high-performance combined DAC and amplifier with Bluetooth support. The Bluetooth chip is located directly next to the DAC, ensuring cleaner and more accurate sound. Digital audio signals from Bluetooth are transmitted to the AK4493 DAC through the XMOS chip to reduce harmonic distortion and cross-talk interference, with a lower noise level. The same technology has been applied to digital audio signals from USB DAC, coaxial, and optical interfaces. Regardless of how you connect to the Q5s, superior sound will be provided. The device supports all modern codecs: aptX-HD, LDAC, HWA.
