FiiO has introduced a new version of its compact Bluetooth receiver and headphone amplifier, the BTR3K. It is designed for those who are unsatisfied with the sound of wireless headphones and want to continue using their favorite in-ear monitors in a wireless format.
Inside the miniature body, it is equipped with the Qualcomm Bluetooth CSR8675 chip, providing support for all major codecs, including high-fidelity ones such as SBC, AAC, AptX, AptX HD, AptX Low Latency, and LDAC. Additionally, the model can simultaneously connect with two wireless audio sources. The built-in diodes on the FiiO BTR3K light up in different colors depending on the codec being used.
The dual digital-to-analog converter AK4377A is responsible for converting the digital signal to analog, and it features two outputs for headphones – a balanced 2.5mm and a regular 3.5mm. The voltage on the balanced output reaches 78mV when paired with a 32-ohm load.
The battery life lasts approximately 11 hours when using the AAC codec (Advanced Audio Coding, a multi-channel audio encoding algorithm that supports streaming). The USB-C port is not only used for charging but also for receiving audio signals in the 16-bit/48kHz PCM format (read more about the format in our blog article).
