DALI Opticon 2 MK2 Bookshelf Speakers
The DALI Opticon 2 MK2 bookshelf speakers are larger than the younger model of this series, and can be an excellent foundation for a compact stereo system. This speaker system will also perform well in the front channels of a home theater system, of course, with the appropriate support from a subwoofer.

The speakers are housed in dampened MDF enclosures with a high-quality external finish in various options. The thickness of the front panel of the speakers is 25 mm, providing good protection against vibrations even when listening at high volumes. The DALI Opticon 2 MK2 is equipped with a large 6.5-inch woofer, whose diaphragm is made of pressed paper-wood mass. This material is traditionally used by DALI for making midrange and bass driver diaphragms due to its excellent acoustic properties.
The speaker diaphragm has a reliable rubber suspension and is mounted on a cast aluminum basket. In addition to very good mechanical characteristics, this basket provides free passage of air waves from the back of the diaphragm, allowing the woofer to produce sound without distortion over a wide dynamic range.
Another feature of the low-frequency driver in the DALI Opticon 2 MK2 speaker is the use of a composite material SMC ring in the magnetic system. Thanks to this, the field is smoothed out and the movements of the voice coil become more accurate and smooth. The low-frequency driver is loaded on a Dual Flare phase inverter, the output hole of which is located on the rear panel. This port operates quietly and efficiently, allowing the speakers to be placed close to a wall without audible distortions in the low-frequency range.
The DALI Opticon 2 MK2 speakers are equipped with an updated tweeter, which features a 29mm fabric dome - a similar transmitter was installed in the high-class Callisto C speakers of this company. The tweeter is housed in a small round waveguide, which aligns its directivity diagram and improves efficiency. The drivers are connected to a crossover made of select components. The DALI Opticon 2 MK2 speakers are produced as matched pairs at the company's factory in Denmark.
