The Dali Katch G2 boasts an elegant retro-style casing with premium exterior finishes. Its front and rear panels are protected by grilles featuring an original pattern, concealing a two-way speaker configuration. Each side is equipped with a 3.5-inch woofer and a 21mm tweeter. These drivers have been specifically designed for the compact enclosure of the Dali Katch G2, ensuring high sound quality. The woofers feature inverted aluminum diaphragms that offer the same range of motion as low-frequency drivers in traditional Hi-Fi speakers.
To deliver deep bass from such a compact speaker, the woofers work in conjunction with a pair of oval passive radiators that have been precisely engineered. The built-in amplifiers of the Dali Katch G2 provide a power output of 2 x 25W and operate in an energy-efficient Class D, maximizing battery usage and minimizing heat production. The sound character can be adjusted using the two-mode DSP, and two Katch G2 speakers can be combined to create a stereo pair.
The casing of the Dali Katch G2 is made of aluminum, drawing from the experience gained through the development of the FAZON speaker series. The front and rear panels with the drivers are constructed from ABS. The aluminum construction allows for exceptionally thin walls without compromising rigidity, resulting in increased internal volume necessary for proper driver operation. Furthermore, the combination of metal and polymer provides excellent vibration damping, ensuring that the speaker enclosure does not resonate or color the sound even at high volumes.
The Dali Katch G2 is equipped with Bluetooth version 5.0, offering support for apt-X, apt-X HD, and AAC. Additionally, a mini-jack input is available for connecting external players, and the USB port can be used for charging other portable devices or connecting a Chromecast adapter for integration with compatible home AV equipment. The powerful internal 3300mAh battery provides up to 30 hours of autonomous playback, with a full charge taking only 2 hours. Power level indicator lights can be activated by pressing a button, instantly displaying the current power level. The leather strap is adorned with a gold coin featuring the Dali logo, complementing the overall color scheme.
