Add to that its wide connectivity options and built-in real-time effects, and you can tackle almost any task - whether you want to record, mix, master, stream, or simply play audio.
Features:
- Built-in DSP and FPGA chips allow for real-time effects processing.
- Acoustically Focused Clocking technology eliminates jitter.
- Compact format and Thunderbolt bus power.
- 37 proprietary modeled analog effects.
Technologies and Device
The Antelope Audio Zen Q features two digital-analog converters with a dynamic range of 127 dB and can operate at sampling rates up to 24-bit 192 kHz thanks to the AFC (Acoustically Focused Clocking) technology borrowed from the company's higher-end models.
The device comes equipped with a digital signal processing (DSP) processor, high-quality discrete preamps (up to 65 dB gain), and dedicated Hi-Z instrument inputs.
Real-time Effects
The Zen Q, operating on the Synergy Core core, comes with a set of 37 analog effects. All these effects are processed exclusively in the Zen Q interface using a unique combination of FPGA and DSP chips without additional memory or CPU resources from your computer. This means you can record and work with vocals and instruments in real-time, making listening, mixing, and even mastering with Zen Q a truly professional experience.
Connection Options
For analog recording, there are two preamps that can handle microphone, line, and instrument levels. Inputs are equipped with phantom power, with two additional 6.3mm inputs on the front panel. The gain level reaches 65 dB. The chassis features two headphone outputs, two balanced monitor outputs, and two balanced line outputs. The interface works with external preamps and converters via ADAT and S/PDIF ports.
Design and Power
With its sturdy construction and high-resolution display, the Zen Q is ideal for recording in a home studio, rehearsal space, or even as a standalone effects processor and mixer for a small group. No additional power source is required to operate the Zen Q; the audio interface works with a single Thunderbolt 3 cable and easily connects to your computer. The proprietary macOS and Windows drivers ensure stable operation with ultra-low latency.
