Description

The MACKIE EM-91C model is a large-diaphragm condenser microphone with a cardioid polar pattern, suitable for both studio and home use. This microphone is perfect for recording vocals and most instruments, even louder sound sources.

The microphone features an electret condenser capsule with a cardioid polar pattern and minimal peripheral noise levels. The frequency response ranges from 20 to 18,000 Hz, with a sensitivity of -30 dB +/- 3 dB, and an output impedance of 150 Ohms +/- 30%. The EM-91C can handle sound pressure levels of up to 134 dB. It is built durably in a tank-like housing, guaranteeing reliable operation for years to come. The microphone is connected using an XLR connector and comes with a spider mount and an XLR cable.

Features:

  • Type: condenser
  • Polar pattern: cardioid
  • Frequency range: 20 Hz - 18 kHz
  • Sensitivity: 30 mV/Pa
  • Maximum sound pressure: 134 dB
  • Equivalent noise level: 16 dBA
  • Signal-to-noise ratio: 78 dB

These microphones are very sensitive. They require an external power supply and are hung up to ceiling

Словарь терминов
Impedance, Ohms

No higher than 32 Ohms for smartphone headphones. When using a good player or amplifier, it can be up to 100 Ohms. For stationary models you should coordinate the impedance with the amplifier power

Glossary of terms

Max SPL, dB
134
Microphone polar pattern

Omnidirectional, cardioid and supercardioid. It determines the sensitivity of the microphone to sound relative to the direction or angle, i.e. shows how well the microphone "hears" sound from different sides

Glossary of terms
cardioid

The polar pattern of the microphone that picks up the sound in front of it.

Словарь терминов
Microphone type
condenser

A metal membrane consisting of plates (a condenser) oscillates under the influence of sound air flows converting a sound wave into an electromagnetic one.

Словарь терминов
Phantom power

Necessary for condenser microphones

Glossary of terms
yes

Simultaneous transmission of DC power and information signals over one wire.

Словарь терминов
Signal-to-noise ratio, dB

The higher signal-to-noise ratio, the clearer sound and the bigger the dynamic range provided by the system
