The improved direct-drive DC motor operates with low noise levels and supports speeds of 33/45/78 RPM. The turntable comes equipped with the new AT-VM95E cartridge mounted on an AT-HS6 headshell. Changes have also been made to the power supply, which is now external.
The AT-LP5x features a built-in preamp, allowing for connection to a stereo system with either a line or phono input. It includes an aluminum platter and a thick damping mat, both housed in a single construction designed to reduce resonance from moving parts.
