The Cayin HA-3A tube headphone amplifier is built on a classic single-cycle, two-stage circuit using selected components. The small cabinet of the amplifier is very carefully crafted and the finish is of the highest quality. The thick aluminum front panel of the Cayin HA-3A features two arrow indicators for signal level.

The HA-3A represents exquisite design accomplished by first class engineering – aesthetics backed up by genuine production quality. The HA-3A vacuum tube headphone amplifier is built so you can listen favorite music through your choice of headphones or earphones, and escape into a private, indulging retreat.
HA-3A users the renowned RCA 25AX4GT as a rectifier tube. The rectifier converts the incoming power souce to DC current and the RCA 25AX4GT does this while minimizing interference and providing clean power to the amplification circuit. Accompanying the RCA 25AX4GT Rectifier are dual matched JJ 12AU7/ECC82 in the driver stage, and dual EHX 6V6GT for the output stage.
The amplifier features a transformer output for compatibility with headphones from 8 to 600 ohms. A three-position gain switch is provided for best matching with models of different impedances. Cayin HA-3A has three headphone outputs: two balanced on 4-pin XLR and 4.4 mm Jack, and an unbalanced 6.3 mm jack. For connection to the signal source there are balanced XLR and unbalanced RCA inputs. The balanced input is realized with matching transformers.
The 6V6 output drivers a pair of proprietary output transformers that support single-ended and balanced headphone outputs. The secondary winding of the output transformer provides the alternate phase needed for a balanced output, enabling balanced power from a single-ended origin.
Impedance Matched Headphone Output: choose from Low, Medium, or High impedance to match your headphones. Optimized Headphone Outputs: the 4-pin XLR will provide the maximum power while the 4.4mm output allows for compatibility with high-end IEMs and more sensitive options. 60 second start up delay circuit: Protects your tubes and minimizes noise related to the warm up cycle of the amplifier.
The entire circuit is hand wired using point to point wiring, rather than a circuit board. Point to point, shortens the signal path and improves the efficiency and conductivity. Cayin also uses power transformers, designed and wound in house, to ensure that the shielding and output is up to their standards.
